Optimism at Ayr Ice Rink

31/07/2020

Ayr Curling Club are very confident that curling will go ahead this season, with a scheduled Opeing Day on 28 September 2020.

With gyms and swimming pools in Scotland being given the green light to re-open in September, it looks like curling will go ahead, possibly with one sweeper at a time. Scottish Curling are expected to issue another update shortly, which will be posted here.

There has been great activity at the ice rink, with the ice hall fully repainted and new barriers installed. The ice hockey changing rooms have been refurbished and a new carpet will lbe laid in the lounge next week. There has been a great turnout of volunteers to help with some of the jobs, the latest being laying ply on the floor, prior to fitting the carpet.

Now more than ever, we need curlers to commit to playing, and take advantage of the upgraded facilities.
