Stranraer outing 11 March 2026

Four rinks set off for another day's curling at Stranraer. With two late call-offs, there was some extra sweeping for a few unfortunates!
The ice was superb and a great day of fun and friendship was enjoyed by all. The winner was Charlie Steele's rink of Allan Chapman, Jack Shanks and Fraser Hogg. Some excellent curling was on display, not least by Paul Williams, who claimed to be playing his first game of the season. Some suspect he has been secretly practising! And who could forget Hugh Kennedy's final stone of the day, with a long raise wicking off another stone in the four-foot to take the shot.
These days are more than just curling - they epitomise the very ethos of Ayr and Alloway - a freindly club where competition still matters.
