Wallace & Marion receive Salver

Alan McKinlay joined me today when we were finally able to present the Salver to Marion and Wallace. They were both in excellent form and fortunately the weather allowed appropriate distancing to be observed with the handover in the garden.

I explained this award was planned for the AGM in March as Wallace had previously announced that both he and Marion would become non playing members for 20/21.I wished that their remarkable number of years as playing members of A&ACC should be recognised. Whilst exact dates are unclear it must be approaching 100 years of membership between them.

What really is impressive is the amazing and infectious enthusiasm they brought to the game even whilst playing in their 90s . They both latterly became deadly exponents of the cue. They greatly appreciated the award and were delighted to see their names engraved on the back amongst the other previous recipients of the Salve.
